TwilightRealms includes quality-of-life improvements that streamline gameplay, reduce frustrations, and enhance the overall player experience while keeping the core Minecraft feel.

Gameplay Mechanics

This page outlines important gameplay mechanics and custom features on the server. These changes are designed to improve performance, balance gameplay, and add quality-of-life features.

World Information

World Sizes

  • Overworld: 150,000 blocks

  • Nether: 18,750 blocks

  • End: 30,000 blocks

Random Teleport

Players can use /wild to teleport to a random location in each world.

  • Overworld: Teleports players up to 25,000 blocks away from spawn.

  • Nether: Teleports players up to 2,500 blocks away.

  • End: Teleports players to the edge of the outer End islands, around 1,500 blocks from the center.


Fishing Changes

Fishing has been reimagined to provide more exciting rewards and unique mechanics across all worlds.

General Mechanics

  • Players can catch rare loot, relics, and treasures while fishing.

  • Extra fish can be sold using /sell through the Exchange.

  • Players can track their fishing progress using /fish catalog, which shows performance and loot collected.

  • Using /stats will also show you extra stats on your fishing.

World-Specific Fishing

Fishing works differently depending on the world you are in:

Fish in lava pools to obtain unique Nether loot

Fish into the void to discover End-specific items

Tips

  • Using the /fish catalog regularly helps track progress and rare loot collected.

  • Selling extra fish at the exchange can provide a steady source of coins or resources.

  • Explore fishing spots in different worlds to discover world-specific items and rare rewards.


Combat Changes

Combat Logging

Combat lasts for 15 seconds after engaging another player.

  • Logging out during combat will result in:

    • Instant death

    • All items dropping on the ground

Weapon Balancing

Several combat mechanics have been adjusted for better PvP balance.

  • Axe damage has been reverted to pre-1.9 values, making swords the primary PvP weapon.

  • Maces have been nerfed by 40% to prevent one-shot PvP kills.

Golden Apple Cooldowns

  • Golden Apples (30 seconds)

  • Enchanted Golden Apples (60 seconds)

Both have cooldowns to prevent excessive use during PvP only.


Netherite Changes

Netherite materials cannot be obtained from Bastion Remnant structures.

The following items must be obtained through mining Ancient Debris in the Nether:

  • Ancient Debris

  • Netherite Scrap

  • Netherite Ingots


Quality of Life Features

Tree Chopping

Axes can chop down an entire tree at once, making wood gathering faster and easier.

How it works:

  1. Crouch (Sneak).

  2. Break one of the tree logs with an axe.

The entire tree will be chopped down and replaced with a sapling at the base.

Requirements

  • You must be using an Copper Axe or better.

  • The feature will not work with Wooden or Stone axes.

Auto Replanting Crops

Crops will automatically replant when harvested using a hoe.

Mineable Spawners

All players can mine mob spawners using a Silk Touch pickaxe.


Mob Behavior Changes

Disabled Mob Abilities

  • Endermen cannot pick up blocks.

Disabled Mobs

The following mobs are disabled:

  • Bats

  • Phantoms


Mob Performance Optimizations

To reduce lag and improve server performance:

  • Mobs are limited in surrounding chunks.

  • Basic non mob spawner farms still work.


Mob Stacking System

To improve server performance while maintaining farm efficiency:

Spawner Stacking

  • Mob spawners stack up to 32

  • Stacked spawners will spawn the appropriate number of mobs.

Mob Stacking

  • Mobs can stack up to 250 mobs per stack.

Sweeping Edge & Mob Stacks

Sweeping Edge will kill multiple mobs in a stack and drop accurate loot.
